Para-Gear is excited to bring to you this one of a kind, noise cancelling communication equipment from Rare Dynamic. Their engineers have worked for years to produce a range of microphones and earpieces for use in different but specific environments.  This Patented technology has allowed the introduction of the new high gain RD-1 mic (microphone), which has been specifically designed for loud wind noise situations, such as Skydiving, Wind Tunnel Simulators, Motorcycle Communication, Military and other extreme noise environments.
    All sounds have a different frequency; therefore all noise canceling microphones must be different. Unlike the “cookie cutter technology” of other noise canceling microphones these microphones are specifically designed for the environments they will be used in. Here is an example of how this cookie cutter technology does not work.
    These 4 mics (microphones) were taken into the loudest Wind Noise-testing environment available. With the wind speed and the ground level air density of the Wind Tunnel Skydiving Simulator, this was the perfect place to put these mics to the test. The Military mic was the closest to the clarity experienced with the high gain RD-1 mic. While the RD-2 mic was better than the Indy Car mic it lacked as much clarity as the RD-1 mic. All of the mics tested are considered best in their field of expertise and work well in their specific environment but for the best and fortunately most affordable noise reduction quality in loud wind noise situations the RD-1 mic proved to be the ideal product.
            The most important part of any high noise environment noise canceling system is the microphone. These handmade custom designed Microphones are made of the highest quality materials. No other microphones come close in quality and performance; therefore there are no other high noise environment communication systems that compare.
    Unlike the typical stereo noise canceling earphones these earphones are mono. The reason for this is that stereo is very noisy and instead of different signals going to different sides of the head, mono allows the same signal to go to both sides. Another difference is that you can sill hear what’s going on around you. If all the noise is canceled out this would be very dangerous.
    The ICOM IC-4088A Two-Way Radio system is the transceiver for the Rare Dynamic communication system. There are 14 channels that have a range of 2 miles. It has a big LCD display screen allowing you to view low battery, channels and ring tones. Additional features include a retractable antenna and a key pad lock to ensure proper communication during your activity.
            You do not have to use a full Face headgear with the system, although the mic does fit perfectly into the mouth area of a full face headgear. Working together with Bonehead Composites has developed a chin cup system specifically designed to fit the mic and attach to an open face headgear. This is all you would need to use the mic with your open face headgear.
    Various systems are described below. The 1-way systems allow one person to talk 1-way to one or more people, depending on the system. In essence, the person with the microphone can talk to one or more people. The people that are being talked to cannot talk back. The 2-way systems allow two people to talk to each other. In essence, both people will have microphones and the ability to talk to one another.

1 person with coach - 1-way system

Example uses: AFF, Tandem, Freefly/ RW coaching, Tunnel Coaching/ training and more. This system allows one person to talk 1-way to one other person.

Example uses: This system allows a 4-way team to be coached in the air and in the tunnel. It enables real time coached input, among other uses.

Example uses: This system is used for wind tunnel training for groups of up to 5 people. It will allow the coach to talk 1-way to all the students and/or other instructors whether they are all in the tunnel at once, in pairs, or one at a time. If people are waiting for their turn in the tunnel they can listen to the instruction of those in the air stream and learn.

Example uses: This 2-way system can be used for freefly training, formation training and more. It will allow two people to talk to and hear each other at the same time, similar to a telephone. You will be able to carry on a conversion while hearing your friend at the same time.
