HEL-STAR 6 is the latest in a series of purpose-built lights designed specifically for helmet-mounting for airborne, MFF, and ground operations. HEL-STAR 6 combines features of the earlier HEL-STAR 4® & HEL-STAR 5® models into a compact, one-piece design with enhanced visibility and easy battery replacement. Various models are available providing two, three, or four user-defined functions in virtually any combination of white, green, blue, red, and IR - either flashing or steady. Variable flash rates and coded signals are available for enhanced IFF capability.

The Static Nose Plug version is used when the user wants the light setting to be completely secured as either Overt or Covert. For the light setting function to be switched from A to B the Static Nose Plug needs to be removed, turned 180 degrees and put back in.
The Sliding Nose Switch version is used when the user wants the light setting to be more easily set as Overt or Covert. For the light setting function to be switched from A to B the Sliding Nose Switch is simply pushed out.

The HEL-STAR 5 is a waterproof, three function LED marker light designed specifically for headgear mounting. Other marking applications extend to vehicles, outer wear, and equipment. The low profile design installs quickly without tools or hardware using Velcro® interfaces. This latest addition to the HEL-STAR family adds functionality to the original HEL-STAR 4 design with a third operating mode.
HEL-STAR 5® Advantages:

The HEL-STAR 4 is a waterproof, multi-function light originally conceived for parachute operations as a replacement for chemical light sticks and bulky strobe lights duct-taped onto headgear. Its flexible design allows the HEL-STAR 4 to adhere to varied shapes and surfaces. This streamlined device is Velcro® mounted to safely peel-away in the event of interference with parachute risers. Several different models help match the operating modes to mission requirements. This Nine (9) LED light features the flash modes of both the Navy Special Warfare and Government Agent models in both IR and Green Light. There is also a steady on IR, Green, and White illuminator mode.
The IR, Green and White illuminator modes are field programmable and have the Mockingbird™ feature that will copy any IR light source pattern that is put in front of it. The Mockingbird™ feature can be programmed with a simple pocket IR light, with another VIP or any other IR light source.
The light intensity is also field programmable. IR, Green, and White can be programmed individually or as a group to either low, medium, high and super-bright intensities. The user can now control the light for optimum performance in different night environments.
The Quantum FX™ Chameleon includes built in sensors that will automatically switch the light to emit a preprogrammed signal if it senses a targeting Laser, illuminator, or other high output IR light source. This Bidirectional Light Communication™ feature is always active when switched but can be turned off by the user if needed.
The light utilizes our exclusive Reverse Polarity Program Switching™ to give the user access to seven (7) preprogrammed light signatures with up to four different colors. Once the battery is flipped the user has access to the programming features of the light. Programming includes seven (7) different features including changing light signatures, light intensities and friend or foe identification.
With the ability to rapidly change colors, intensities and to interact with its environment the light has earned its nickname The Chameleon™.
